Mood and Music Monday: 11/14/16

Hello, everybody! Welcome to this week’s Mood and Music Monday!

Mood and Music Monday is a weekly meme I’ve started, wherein I’ll post a song and talk about how it relates to my day/week, as well as a few other things. (And, in case anyone’s wondering, this meme has no relation to Lauren’s [from Always Me] “Music Mondays.”) Feel free to participate and to leave a link to your posts down in the comments!

Here’s the update for this week:

What are you listening to? This past week, I finally took the plunge and began listening to MCR. And, now that I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole, I don’t think it’s likely I’ll find my way out. My favorites so far are “Sleep,” “Welcome to the Black Parade,” “Ambulance,” “I Don’t Love You,” (which very accurately describes my life right now) “Teenagers,” “Famous Last Words,” and, of course, “Cancer.” (The both the MCR and the twenty one pilots versions of this song are one of the few songs that just make me feel super sad, no matter what mood I’m in before I listen to them. Such heart-wrenching beauty and pain in those lyrics.)

I’ve also had Panic!’s “Time to Dance” on repeat, as well as a clean version of “Nicotine.” (Current mood=theatrical emo, seemingly.)

What are you reading? I’ve finished Cruel Beauty and Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta. Both lacked the oomph for me that everyone else was raving about, but ah, well. Right now, I’m currently reading A Thousand Nights by E.K. Johnston, and I plan to start The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury tomorrow. ^_^

What are you drinking? Water. It’s been unusually warm for fall, and I don’t like it. 😦 I’m ready for sweaters and tea! Work with me, here, weather!

Any goals for this week? Writing , for sure. I haven’t had the chance to do much of that the past few days because of school. I’m also hoping for at least one review this week. (And for some decent sleep, but maybe that’s asking too much?)

How about you?

  • What song(s) are you listening to today?
  • What is your current read? Are you enjoying it?
  • Do you have any plans or goals for this week?
