Hello, everybody! Welcome to this week’s Mood and Music Monday!
Mood and Music Monday is a weekly meme I’ve started, wherein I’ll post a song and talk about how it relates to my day/week, as well as a few other things. (And, in case anyone’s wondering, this meme has no relation to Lauren’s [from Always Me] “Music Mondays.”) Feel free to participate and to leave a link to your posts down in the comments!
Here’s the update for this week:
SONG(S) OF THE WEEK
What are you listening to? This week, I’ve discovered the band Daughter, and I’m so glad I did. I’ve heard a lot of good things about their music, and it looks like all the hype is very much deserved. The first song I listened to was “Youth,” and I love it so, so much. Elena Tonra sounds like Florence and the Machine, except she sings with a quiet kind of strength, one that’s not as powerful, volume-speaking, as Florence Welch’s, but powerful all the same. Also, I can’t even begin to describe how relatable “Youth”‘s lyrics are; they’re so poignant and ring so true. (Although I prefer the EP version of “Youth” to the album version, peronally.) “Candles” is also very good. I’m planning on listening to their full album soon. 🙂
What are you reading? Finished Ship Breaker, The Iron King (by Julie Kagawa), and Saint Anything (by Sarah Dessen). Right now, I’m trying to finish Eclispe still, but I’m really having to push myself to do it. I’m so close, yet so far, it seems.
What are you drinking? Lots of water.
Any goals for this week? Still knocking out my July TBR Pile, working on book revisions, and hopefully making paleo ice cream. ^_^ I’ll be sure to let you know how the last one goes! (Update: It went deliciously well. 😉 )
